WPWeekly Episode 150 – Interview With Ryan Vaughn, CEO Of Varsity News Network

We started the show off with Andrew Nacin where he clarified a number of points dealing with the WordPress.com Cookie problem. He also published a great post explaining why security is nuanced.

The second part of the show featured an interview with Varsity News Network CEO, Ryan Vaughn, to discuss how the company is utilizing WordPress to become the ESPN of high school sports. Using a custom designed theme, VNN provides more than 350 high schools across the country a website to publish informational events, schedules, and scores.

I met Ryan a few years ago at a startup event in Zeeland, MI, and later heard him pitch VNN in Grand Rapids, MI. VNN comes up every so often when I speak with other local WordPress professionals and school clients who use VNN. Here’s to their continued success!
