Podcast Dedicated To All Things Plugins

Judging by the stats, folks just can’t seem to get their fix of plugin information. If you are one of those people, consider subscribing and listening to the WordPress Plugins From A to Z podcast. Hosted by John Overall and Marcus Couch, the show records every week to discuss the news of the week as well as the various plugins they’ve discovered. While the show is not recorded in front of a live audience, you can subscribe to it on iTunes or use Stitcher Radio to listen to the show.

I had the privilege of being a guest host on episode 125. On this episode we talked about some of the WordPress news of that week but we also dived into the topics of orphaned plugins and the request that plugin developers use uninstall.php to make uninstalling their plugins cleaner and more efficient. The plugins reviewed in this episode were WCK – Custom fields and custom post types creator, Google Typography, Class Booking, Ajax Edit Comments, and Basic Comment Quicktags.

Give the show a listen and let me know what you think.

  1. Awesome! We’ve been consuming as many WordPress podcasts as possible lately in preparation for our launch later this month. Adding this one to the list now. :)

  2. Plugins have become the tail that wags the dog.

Among a bevy of recent-years trends that many view warily at best, the rise of plugins has been a bright spot on a sometimes darkly-Orwellian stage.

Though plugins are by no means without their issues & controversies, they are definitely hot. When you’re hot, you’re hot.

  3. I have been listening to podcast for a while now and they always have great content. I am glad you brought Marcus on the website to do the “daily plugin post” always awesome. My problem is trying to figure out which plugins conflict with others and which ones do not use the proper ways to call their javascripts and styles that ends up messing up other plugins on site. So maybe something on plugins that do not work well together would be cool. But the hard work already done is so incredible been a HUGE help in my work.
