    The carousel is also significantly improved on touch devices. You can swipe, double tap, and pinch to zoom like a native app.

    It does look much better and yet if it is still not an option to never show the metadata then it still is a no go for me. Sometimes you just want a clean, and minimal carousel slideshow without the data.

    It is great that the Carousel has been improved for mobile users (which was badly needed), but on the desktop, it is now dumbed down, from showing title, caption and description (excerpt) to just showing the title. Disappointing for those of us who chose Carousel over other lightboxes precisely BECAUSE it showed that extra data — and reason enough for me to disable Carousel for good on my site now. :(

      That’s a bug, we missed this when testing the changes. It will be fixed in the next version of Jetpack. You can follow our progress on this in this GitHub issue.
