WPWeekly Episode 225 – Interview With Scott Kingsley Clark Lead Developer of Pods

In this episode of WordPress Weekly, Marcus Couch and I interview Scott Kingsley Clark, lead developer of the Pods framework plugin. Clark explains the financial and organizational structure of the Friends of Pods program and how it benefits the plugin’s development.

He also explains what the Fields API project is and its significance to WordPress. To make a long story short, it’s on par with the REST API’s inclusion in core. Last but not least, in a first for WordPress Weekly, Clark sings a song while strumming his Baritone Ukulele.

Plugins Picked By Marcus:

Video Conferencing with Zoom API, by Deepen Bajracharya from Nepal, gives you the power to manage Zoom Meetings from your WordPress dashboard. You can manage meetings, users, and display meetings in posts or pages using shortcodes.

Time Line Diagram, by Shiddikur Rahman, is a responsive WordPress Plugin that allows you to create a beautiful vertical storyline. You simply create posts, assign images, a date, and then Time Line Diagram will automatically populate the posts in chronological order, based on the year and date.

Easier Excerpts, by Tom McFarlin and Eric Dye from PressWare, automatically expands and contracts the post’s excerpt to eliminate unnecessary white space.
