WPWeekly Episode 221 – Interview With Micah Mitchell of Memberium

In this episode of WordPress Weekly, Marcus Couch and I are joined by Micah Mitchell, who is a partner in Memberium, a membership development and management plugin for WordPress that connects with Infusionsoft.

During the show, we discuss what Memberium has to offer for those who want to create membership sites using WordPress. Due to time constraints, we skipped the news segment and ended the show with the plugin picks of the week.

Plugins Picked By Marcus:

MailChimp Activity displays your MailChimp list activity within the WordPress dashboard.

Clean WP Admin Menu proves an easy to use interface to hide rarely used items in the admin menu.

Story Lines adds a list of story highlights at the top of posts to let readers know key points of the article.

  1. @33:46 Twitter, Google Search, YouTube, Facebook, Wikipedia, LinkedIn, Yelp, eBay, Amazon, etc. None of these membership sites had anything “valuable” when they launched. They scaled because of user-submitted content. The users made these sites valuable.

Also, users are not getting “spoiled.” On the contrary… many business users are up-sold products they don’t even need. No CRM automation tool or B2B SaaS wrapper will help a failing business model. Forget, this, not. (Yoda voice)

My colleague was all giddy about getting some Inbound Marketing “badge” to place on their website. SMH.
