WordCamp New Zealand This August

wordcampnewzealandI was notified this morning that WordCamp New Zealand will be taking place this year on the 8th and 9th of August. The event will take place in the city of Wellington and will feature a keynote presentation from Matt Mullenweg. However, there will also be plenty of other hands-on sessions focused on the WordPress platform and the community around it. To be honest, these hands-on sessions are something WordCamps seem to be lacking.

Ticket Registration will be opening soon to the general public. If you have any questions, be it about speaking or general inquiries, feel free to get in touch with the organizers via their contact form.

Would you like to write for WP Tavern? We are always accepting guest posts from the community and are looking for new contributors. Get in touch with us and let's discuss your ideas.

  1. I’ll be there! If anyone is wanting to do some site seeing whilst in the country feel free to get in touch with me. I live down south where most of the good touristy stuff is.

Wellington is also the home of the SilverStripe CMS project, so if anyone is interested in that you should get in touch with Sigurd Magnussen. I’m not sure if any of them will be attending WordCamp though since they’re direct competitors of it.

Thanks to Dan, Jason and Anthony for helping to organise the event. Somehow I never got lumped with organising duties which I’m quite stoked about :D

  2. @Ryan – Have a great time. Must be nice to just go and attend the show instead of worrying about putting it together.

  3. Cool, another Kiwi WordPress’er on here :)

Where are you from Richard? I’m from Dunedin.

  4. Gudday Ryan. I’m from Wellington. Have been using WordPress for years. It just keeps getting better, and better, and better. I started out with Typepad and Squarespace and then discovered WordPress. Simply superb. See you August. R.

  5. Ohhh I’d love to attend.. Unfortunately it’s a teeny weeny bit far away for someone living in the UK :D
