  I love how this registration process keeps it simple and clear! 🙌 The added touch with the pineapple pizza checkbox is a fun way to engage users 🍍🍕. It’s great that the Privacy Policy is the only mandatory step, keeping things straightforward while still offering users options for more updates. 🔑💻

  I get that they wanted to take a break, but firstly not all users are going to celebrate the same holidays, and second I really needed to get some stuff done while it was paused!

  This reflects an “attitude” problem in WordPress and especially Matt. You are trying so hard to prove to the community that WordPress.org is a charity and entire community should be obliged.

  I suspect the Holiday Break was based at least partially on legal advice. The specific exclusion of WP Engine from the break is a clue for me. For me it goes something like this.
  
  The injunction requires all wordpress.org services be returned to WP Engine. The break allows wordpress.org to clearly demonstrate they are complying with the injunction & providing the services to WP Engine, even when they are paused for everyone else.
