Childish, immature, whatever, is ok. Many times is what we need, but NOT when you want to send a specific message that has nothing to do with the humor.
“Pineapple is delicious on Pizza” is the same as “I’m not Italian”.
So, you have to consider that checkbox with the second sentence.
That checkbox is an act of racism and shows the desire to show everyone who’s in charge.
You check that checkbox or you can’t log in. Simple.
Yes, the text of the checkbox is funny, but the message behind the checkbox is tragic. You may also love pizza with beans, you are free to eat whatever you want, but you cannot deny access to anyone who does not claim to like something as disgusting as pineapple on pizza.
Next time we will see something like “I like only Jazz music”, “I don’t speak German”, or whatever. Maybe we will see even funnier jokes, but the message is only one: who has to check that checkbox is not in charge and they have to be submitted to the supreme boss of WordPress.
The only free way to don’t be submitted is to leave WordPress. This is the message.

This content adds a fun and quirky twist to the WordPress login process with the introduction of a mandatory “pineapple on pizza” checkbox. It’s a playful way to engage users while highlighting the site’s sense of humor. The lighthearted approach adds a touch of personality to the otherwise standard login experience, making it an amusing and memorable moment for WordPress users!

Guys and gals! Grow up – you’re acting like a bunch of children whose overblown sense of entitlement is making you – and WordPress, and my own professional reputation as a developer of many WP sites – look like the low-class Bad News Bears. Matt: you may well have a grievance but the way you or your team has handled it is immature, unprofessional and stupid. Hire a PR expert along with all your lawyers and start having a more honest and mature conversation with your customers (i.e., me), stakeholders and your competitors.
Or not. Instead just sit around and keep acting like that. Watch your 43% global market share shrivel down to 4.3% as professionals upholding their own reputations flee. Is it time to look at Visual Studio and .NET? Now put the juvenile snark away and figure it out.
