Hopefully I didn’t add to it (too much at least :). “At the end of the day, we all have one goal in common: we want users to have access to awesome themes from the directory.” => Exactly, though for me I’d extend it to awesome themes outside the repository as well, since that’s an important part of the theme landscape and the value of WordPress, and since I know WP.org guidelines and standards have a big effect on the broader community. I know that’s not technically your mandate, but that’s a big part of my concern too. In any case, if we’re going this way anyways, I hope it unfolds smoothly the rest of the way and proves to be a great decision.
