Actually, all the features you mentioned are actually the ones that are easiest to automate and, therefore, are entirely suited to how the cloud giants (Amazon, Google, Microsoft) operate. There is no such thing as a “fake firewall” :D The sticking point is always going to be support: to what extent will they be willing to break with their usual formulas and provide their hosting customers with real, human support? We already have good indicators, from existing products such as Google Apps for Work, of how they will approach that.
