Anthony Hortin

I’d like to say “better late than never” but this should’ve happened 5 years ago. I’ve lost count the number of times that I’ve raised significant usability issues, along with showing supporting posts from leading usability experts to back up my comment, only to be either ignored or have the issue closed with nothing being done. I’ve gotten so fed up I don’t even bother raising issues anymore, unless it’s an actual bug. My sentiments are the same as what Mike McAlister mentioned, “that ‘they’re not listening to us”.

Trying to use Gutenberg, is frustrating as hell with their constant urge to hide every option beneath multiple layers of menus, icons, popups and popups within popups! There’s still no way I’ll build a client website using this editor. I don’t want my clients being as frustrated as me, when all they simply want to do is update their content. I rarely even use ACF anymore because of how the blocks are implemented within the Block Editor, and if I do use it, it’ll be with the Classic Editor with the classic custom fields, so as to get a much better user experience when editing content. As for now, I’ve resorted to building everything with the Classic Editor and Elementor. That’s not to say it’s perfect, but its a considerably better editing experience than Gutenberg and provides a much more feature-rich editor, even when you only want to do small changes like adding padding and margins to elements.
