Carolina The Automattic WIP team does not interact with the WordPress.org themes team members in any way. There is no sharing of experiences or cross-team discussions so I don’t find this surprising at all. If the WIP team believes such discussions would be beneficial they are of course welcome to make an introduction and attend the themes team meetings.
