Periyar Pinto i am on matt’s side here. every time one of these outrage fests happens, dude gets dragged, called a “dictator” and all sorts of nonsense. meanwhile wordpress continues to be completely foss and more actively developed than ever before. the latest episode started from a 2am tweet about plugins being listed on wordpress.com. this could have been addressed in a much better way in the wordpress backchannels (the “slack” and whatever else that regular people don’t see). beneath the hype over open source, there is usually a vicious group of people looking to only benefit from the project. free “customers” are often the most demanding and abusive people you will have to deal with.
