Alex I think most of us already consider the ongoing cost of updates and support as part of our viability model. It isn’t that we’re trying to use unlicensed plugins. It’s that we prefer to pay for plugins from teams who aren’t actively seeking to break our sites the moment our license expires. There is a huge difference between a plugin who’s attitude is “As long as you’re paying us we’ll continue to help you” and one instead says “You had better keep paying me or else I’ll hurt you.” Thankfully I cancelled my MemberPress subscription the moment I found out Awesome Motive got involved.
