Shaun Baer I am not against this idea, but I really think we need to hear from the BIPOC people in our community (and the tech industry at large). The sentiment is great, but amplifying the voices of BIPOC members of our community and having a conversation about it seems like a best practice (that only leads to better practices if that continues (as it should)), and avoids overcompensation for white guilt, or getting so anti-racist that it becomes racist in a different way. Nothing wrong with getting rid of offensive language, but I think it needs to be a conversation with those who are potentially the most effected leading that conversation.
