Peter Knight While this is a brilliant tool, what have we ffin done for new users dipping their toes into web development? Before even tinkering with a few lines of code we first have to configure all this complexity just to get started. Installing node on a local machine, with hundreds of modules being pulled in. Trying to parse JSX and React. Build scripts operated by complicated projects few developers understand. Yes, it’s nice that a lot of this complexity can be magicked with a tool like the one covered here. But why has it gotten to this in the first place? WordPress has now inherited the worst aspects of contemporary JS development. What a disservice to new users and beginners that is.
