Ryan McCue Firstly: there’s no monolithic “.org”. It’s just a bunch of regular people who are spending time on core. Some people get paid time for that, some people volunteer their own time. Acting like there’s an us-vs-them doesn’t help the conversation, and as a contributor, it can be demoralising. There’s no “spin” that “.org” can put on this, because there is no “.org”. As to the specific Gutenberg points, the latter link specifically says “let’s see what the outcome of the core JS discussion is”. The former is an open ticket that doesn’t have any code merged. Right now, the discussion has led us to lean heavily towards picking React, so it makes sense to plan out the next steps assuming there’s no changes to the status quo. (I don’t monitor WP Tavern comments, so responses won’t be prompt.)
