Toby If your concerns are great enough, anyone is capable of using software to monitor exactly what & how much is sent upstream from a site. Wireshark (and many other tools like it) is your friend. If this were to be implemented against your wishes, that would be your next best step to alleviate your concerns. Additionally, in open-source software, we have the additional benefit of looking at the code itself to ensure code practices are following the official policy announcement. If WP were a closed source project, many of your issues would have weight. Otherwise, I get the distinct feeling that I’ve read this kind of FUD before.
