Charlie Merland Seems the point of the REST API being always on is to progressively make the Dashboard rely on it rather than internal data collection/processing. The REST API comes with a JavaScript/Backbone client library that will be quite useful to some devs (including myself) and I guess will be more and more used by the Dashboard in future releases. Not sure that’s an argument, but at least it gives some kind of explanation.
