Please compare the editing experience on medium to the one you want to do with it. As for being a replacement for staging? As long as you can’t undo changes after they were applied, it will never be. In addition no point in talking about complex transactions before DB access is transactional, which will never happen because it requires php 5.5. Without transactional DB access you just open yourself to DB corruption.
