David Bisset @Emil @Hyder I haven’t heard of KevinJohn before either that I can remember, but the article outside of the WP circles got a lot of quick exposure (was #1 on Hacker News) hence why I think some felt the need to give it more than some passing attention. Also I think some people always get tired of the “WordPress should never be used as a CMS” argument and wanted to vent. And admittingly KevinJohn did have some valid discussion points.
