Michael These statements are perceptions, not reality. I’m willing to bet there are more people than you perceive that want to work, and are capable of working, on WP using the REST API, than you seem to believe. I’m one of them, who now has had a couple of projects it would have been useful on. But I’m waiting until it’s fully-baked. And even if they aren’t there yet, they certainly are capable of learning how to use it–the WP crowd is pretty smart. (Sometimes not as smart as they think, but still pretty sharp. :-)) And as far as being looked down upon, that’s only by other developers, and they aren’t the ones paying the bills. My bills, at least. I still know more than my clients, and that’s what matters, and why they hire me. My rate for WordPress work is currently $95/hr, and I’m about to raise it because I feel like it’s a good time to due to my skills and my demand. I don’t think that’s too bad, for Louisville, KY. So I really don’t care if another developer wants to look down his/her nose at me. I realize I don’t have a masters from Stanford in CS. So although I prefer to be welcomed and respected at least a little among developers, it’s not all that relevant to what’s important, which is my business. *Michael Musgrove* Owner *web design POP, Ltd.
