mark k. If you read the log, matt was very disappointed with the adaption rate, and maybe his expectations were totally not realistic in the first place. The REST API can be used to do nice standalone JS widgets for lazy loading, live updates, etc which even “normal” sites will like to have. The problem (as was pointed out in the chat) is one of the egg and the chicken, no one is going to do plugins for that before the API stabilizes and it is hard to stabilize the API without concrete use cases to work against.
