WPWeekly Episode 134 – Talking WordCamps With David Bisset

This weeks edition of WordPress Weekly features special guest, David Bisset. We were also joined by Marcus Couch. After catching up on the headlines, we dove into the topic of WordCamps. Specifically, encouraging women to speak while also increasing diversity, new IRS regulations that corporate sponsors must abide by and last but not least, whether WordCamps need a dedicated safety officer or not. If you’re a current or future WordCamp organizer, this episode is for you! We concluded the show with Marcus giving his three plugin picks of the week.

Stories Discussed:

Official Git Mirror Now Available for WordPress Core Development Repository
Tax Day Release: WordPress 3.9 to Drop on April 15

Plugins Picked By Marcus:

WP-DraftsForFriends is a plugin that will generate a unique link that you can send to your friends to allow them to preview your draft before they are published. You are able to set the expiry for the link as well.

Floating Publish Button will help you click on “Publish/Update” button in admin panel without scrolling back to top of the page. The whole publish block floats downward as your scroll.

WP Triggers Lite creates interactive trigger boxes. These are conditional boxes that display when the user types in a predetermined phrase or keywords. Once the criteria is met, it triggers what you want to display. If it does not meet the criteria you set, it will default to whatever you set the default process to do.
