WordCamp Toronto 2014 Seeking Speakers With A Focus On Accessibility

The organizers of WordCamp Toronto 2014 are looking for speakers. The event will take place on November 15-16th and will use the Twitter hashtag #WCTO. Although the event will feature the usual WordCamp sessions, there is a focus on accessibility (a11y) this year.

The organizing group wants to help raise awareness, compliance and the level of accessibility across all WordPress related projects.

If you have expertise around web accessibility, AODA and WCAG compliance, assistive technologies or accessible WordPress projects, and are willing to share, we would definitely like to hear from you!

Considering the dismal state of affairs when it comes to accessibility in WordPress themes, it’s nice to see WordCamp Toronto devote more attention to the subject. Speaker submissions will be accepted until late August and will be reviewed on a first-in, first-out basis.

Do you plan on attending or speaking at WordCamp Toronto 2014?
