Not sure if you have featured Fathom Analytics before? They also have a WordPress plugin have led the way in Privacy focused analytics. Worth checking them out.

I don’t like this part of the plugin:

You need a subscription to Plausible Analytics to track your stats. There’s a free 30-day trial with unlimited usage and no credit card required.

If there was a way I could use it without to register anywhere outside my site then yes I’d use it.

I don’t use JetPack or Akismet for this same reason

Matomo is a great alternative to Analytics too.

I have a question to all these Analytics tools. “Can I import the existing data from Google Analytics or Jetpack Stats to get better wholesome figures?” Any selfhosted plugin supports this?

WP-Statistics is a great, free, privacy focused statistics plugin that you can self-host. I’ve been using it for well over a year now and have been VERY pleased with it. Support is rapid too. No third party websites needed. Plugins offer paid functionality. Development is supported by plug-in sales and donations.

Matomo was my second choice, mainly because self-hosting would have ideally required it’s own server with my environment.

I’ve been using Plausible for quite a while now. I love it. It’s simple, straight-forward, and the pricing model is affordable and appropriate. One feature I don’t think was mentioned, but that I use a lot is that you can create a link to give others read-only access to the data. Super useful. I can’t recommend it enough.
