I may be misinterpreting the end result here, but… in the first conversion example Fränk provides he poses the question, “why do I need this tag?”, in relation to the HEADER landmark element. He decides to conceptually reduce the HEADER tag to being “a container” and replaces it with a DIV.

This is obviously disappointing for a11y reasons, but the immediate issue is this sets a terrible precedent when it’s likely these early FSE themes in the directory will become a model for others to follow.

*sorry for ALLCAPS above, not sure if/how HTML tags can be added in comments here.

I know there is a ticket for handling specific HTML tags with the Group block. I am unsure if this has been implemented yet. It is a good thing to start identifying these types of issues now rather than later. Any developer tinkering with these themes should go in with the mindset that everything is still in flux and that there are tons of problems we need to overcome. Having block-based themes in the directory makes it easier for more people to test rather than relegating them to a GitHub repo. I don’t see this as a bad precedent because they are not meant to be perfectly-constructed themes at this point. They are more of a starting point in which we can identify problems, such as the one you brought up.

Just checked, Menus and Navigation missing from the theme files or I am missing something.

I hadn’t heard of the legacy Bosco theme, although I do like the preview of the block-based option. Considered installing on a test site, but I think I’ll wait a few weeks for any initial tweaks to roll out.

Why is it when I look at page attributes, there is no Template selection, for newly created Template forms?

It’s a possible caching issue. I’d first try purging the cache if using a caching plugin. Another old trick I recall is to switch to another theme and then switch back to your current one.
