WordCamp Columbus Ohio 2013 has come and gone but I wanted to point you to an article highlighting the experience from someone who was in a wheelchair. Her experience comes from a perspective that not all of us share. Thankfully, she had a great experience overall and was delighted to see that the room dedicated to the website accessibility session was filled to capacity, letting her know that it was an important subject on the minds of many.
I did not feel lost in the crowd, but instead my individual needs were met. My husband and I are already planning on going next year. If you want to learn how to work with WordPress, I would recommend this conference. From the perspective of someone with a disability, I felt included.
I don’t know about you but I think it’s awesome that folks such as Raeanne Woodman can come to a WordCamp event and have such a great experience. I hope all WordCamp events strive to make everyone in attendance feel included instead of excluded.

I met Raeanne before the afternoon sessions started. She was outside of the Union and was having trouble with her wheelchair. I was able to get someone from OSU to help her.
She seemed like a great person and always had a smile on her face.
I am glad she had a good time and am looking forward to seeing her again next year.
