We’re entering the time of year when everyone opens their calendars and starts planning for the new year. The dates for WordCamp San Francisco 2014 were just announced this week to be set for October 25-26. The dates and times for pre and post-WordCamp events have not yet been decided, so the organizers urge you to hold off booking non-refundable travel until the full schedule is announced. Follow @wordcampsf on Twitter for all the latest updates on the event.

The List of Upcoming WordCamps is Growing

In addition to WordCamp San Francisco, Andrea Middleton posted on the make.wordpress.org Community blog that dates have been published for seven upcoming WordCamps, including Dayton, Asheville, Miami, Atlanta, Norway, Prague, and St. Louis. These dates for upcoming events can be found on the WordCamp Central site, along with links to the websites for each event. Middleton also noted that five WordCamps have now been added to the pre-planning list: Connecticut, Nashville, Hamburg, Netherlands, and Slovakia. Hopefully that information will help you to plan your travels, especially if you intend to go to multiple events in 2014.

If you can’t see yourself getting out to a WordCamp this next year, the next best thing is to monitor the camps online with WP Armchair or catch up on presentations via WordPress.tv. 151 WordCamp presentation videos have recently been published to the site, which is quickly becoming a massive library of WordPress-related videos.

Buy Tickets Early

If you’re a WordPress fan who has never been to a WordCamp, here’s a bit of advice: Buy tickets to the event as soon as you commit to go. During 2013 many WordCamps sold out far in advance of the event. If you’re intent on attending a certain event, grab those tickets and plan your travel early. Expect to get addicted. Connecting with other WordPress fans is an exciting experience that never gets old.

Which WordCamps will you be attending in 2014?
