Listener Poll: Are You Aware What A Child Theme Is And How It Functions?

Time to get back on the bandwagon and get the listener poll on track. This was supposed to be the poll a few weeks ago but thanks to my new system of including the poll inside the post, I’ve been forgetting. Alas, here is this weeks poll question submitted by The WordPress Kid.

One response to “Listener Poll: Are You Aware What A Child Theme Is And How It Functions?”

  1. A child theme is simply a set of files that overrides the properties of a parent theme, while also inheriting much of its power. The reason we absolutely recommend using child themes to modify our themes is so your design changes are maintained totally separately from the parent theme templates. Then when new versions of parent themes are released, the modifications you made aren’t overwritten.
