Sparun, who is a member of the WPTavern community sent me a note the other day that he had published his first free ebook which goes into detail on how to install WordPress locally on Windows XP using WampServer. The guide contains 20 pages, each with there own screenshot to aid readers in the entire process.
What’s cool about this guide is you can either browse through it in a browser or download the PDF for viewing offline. I have an instance of WampServer installed on my own Windows XP desktop machine that I use to test the latest nightly builds of WordPress. I also have a mirrored instance of my live site on my local server to test the dev builds of WordPress with plugins I use everyday here on the Tavern. Download the guide and save it to your resources bin.
Does anyone know which is better, XAMPP or WAMP?
