WiredTree, a webhosting company has become a WordCamp Pillar sponsor. The pillar sponsorship program is a package setup by WordCamp Central that enables businesses to sponsor multiple WordCamp events without having to go through the hassle of sponsoring them individually. Woo Commerce Meetup

The WordPress Meetup group in San Francisco recently held their first WooCommerce meetup within the new Automattic Headquarters. The meetup focused on an introduction to WooCommerce and provided time at the end for customers show and tell their WooCommerce projects. There was also an opportunity to have questions answered. Six weeks from now between March 7th and 8th, WordCamp Dayton, Ohio will be underway. This is the first WordCamp to take place in the Dayton area and is one of three scheduled in the state of Ohio. Sessions range from Podcasting for WordPress to WordPress Version control. There are (more…)

WordCamp Detroit 2011

Jen Mylo has published some interesting statistics on the WordPress Community blog that show WordCamps still have a long way to go when it comes to women speaking at these events. Between 2012 and 2013, there was only a slight increase in the amount of women speaking at WordCamps. Possibly (more…)

Good news for WordCamp organizers! There is now an official forum where WordCamp organizers can share tips, advice, and work together. Announced on the Make.WordPress.community website by Andrea Middleton, new organizers are encouraged to ask questions while past organizers are asked to share their knowledge.

In two weeks, Pressnomics 2 will be underway. Pressnomics, started in 2012 by Joshua Strebel of Page.ly is a conference dedicated to the business aspects of WordPress whether it be software as a service, commercial themes and plugins, or a development agency.
